Anybody know about these things?

got a trade offer on an impala I have been trying to dump.

One of my impala did really well on BAT.

I have a basket case one - and this guy wants to do a straight trade

I always liked these trucks but don't know much about them.

drive for a year and sell would be the plan. No rust - CA truck

owner had it 11 years but wants impala . owner says it's in good driver shape now

thoughts ?

Thanks @petey I understand what you meant now.

Personally I would prefer to leave motor/trans alone - if its good. Do the bed, interior, and paint, drive it 10 months, sell it. Not sure market on these on the sale side, so I need to know what to budget on the build.

I have $7,800 in my Impala.  Last Impala build cost me $37k. Sold for $58k.

If anyone of you know what the "interior" should look like, and what exterior things you MUST do to it, in order to get a good value for it, I will start ordering parts on Monday.

Trade confirmed, Swap happening on Sunday.

if youre doing all or most of the work personally,id do this based on what it looks like in the photos.advertise it right now for a price....then add that you can finish it as the customer wants.gonna do the work anyways plus if people think theyre getting something bespoke the prices tend to go up.worst thing ive ever found being in the biz is putting time and effort into paint and then a potential buyer says "id take it but i hate that color" lol

All will be done by me, EXCEPT the paint. I don't know how to paint.

Was the truck's gas tank relocated to the back?

I'd rock that.  Looks like fuel filler cap now in bed floor?

Wooo hoo - love me some bubble body truck!  If it weren't out west the primer would scare me as to what was underneath.  Love it.  Need pics on the trailer.

Am I blind or is it missing a pedal?

The picture of the engine also shows an independent front suspension, which is not how Ford delivered those trucks. That means the front of the frame, or the whole frame, has been swapped.  It's probably a GM front end since the engine is a Chevy and 2nd Gen F-body front subframe swaps are popular.  S10 frame swaps usually work on these trucks as well (they're not very big), and the 2nd gen F-body and S-10 front ends share a lot of parts. The GM rally-style wheels are another clue that the truck has GM running gear.

Check the entire brake system carefully. Many people screw up decent brakes with mismatched hardware (front vs back, and master cylinders)

In reply to Racingsnake :

Impala was 65. No it wasn't a good 65. I just sold a 65 for $58,000

the one I traded isn't worth 10k on a good day to be honest. It is the worst of the 7 65s I have had.

Thank you sir !!

I think so too. When people hear year impala they think bad trade

but you have to realize this impala isnt saveable so I think I did right

I had impala for sale for 5500-8500 for 7 months - 0 takers. Trust me I couldn't give this thing away for free
