Projector retrofit is almost done. Little more polish and finalize wiring (left front is wonky for some reason). Got the new condenser mounted and the fittings crimped for ac....

Was there a lot of science that went into the fresh & well-sprayed Rustoleum?  I figured your guy Art would have that down pat based on everything you've said about him.

Car is looking good from what you've shared lately.

Not really. 50/50 thin with mineral spirits and a splash of hardener. He sprays it with a good hvlp gun. Im thinking the different solvent (we tried acetone and lacquer thinner before) and cooler temperatures allowed it to lay much better.

Im also blessed that art has sprayed more E36 M3 paint in E36 M3 conditions with E36 M3 equipment than most painters have sprayed. Hes no a show car guy, but a great cheap paint guy.

Heading in the morning to grab new brakes. Powerstop evo pads and four new rotors. All for $50!

So, good brakes (at least not the leftovers from parts cars ive been running). Hopefully worth it!

It holds freon and water!

Driver side wiring and lighting done.

Passengers next.

Also, blue aluminum lug nuts look a little dumb,  but are way more user friendly than the spline drive stuff i had.....

I can add +1 to spraying Rustoleum through a HVLP. 2:2:1 using lacquer thinner and Majic catalyst hardener from Tractor Supply. Goes down very glossy with that combination! I had better luck with warmer surface temp by pre-heating the parts with a space heater.

Would the Tractor Supply paint behave any differently to Rustoleum? I only ask because I'll buy whatever is cheapest when the time comes to paint my Challenge car.

In reply to DeadSkunk (Warren) :

IIRC the Rustoleum was cheaper when bought in quart or gallon sizes compared to the tractor paint, which is why I used it on a Challenge car. The Rusto also has more color options and more places to buy it in spray cans if you need to touch up. I've used the tractor stuff on a frame and I didn't find it any more durable than the rustoleum.

I found the tractor supply stuff way more fragile than rustoleum. And more expensive.

But it does lay down nice! Still staying rustoleum myself though.

Need to grab another can of rustoleum for touch up.

And ready to test drive!

Not an uneventful test drive, but a successful one.

Had my splitter cables come apart and i ran over it. Time to rethink it entirely...

About 10 miles today! The heat doesn't seem to work. Im wondering if I missed hooking up the blend door cable.

Bew splitter is on, some decals removed as i felt it went too far.

Noisy rear again. Pretty sure i lost another bolt.

Staying at 195 more or less driving around,  ans thats what I have the thermostat rsted at. So thats nice.

Seems to run better

Dude in the chick-fil-a drive through was absolutely stoked to have a race car come through for a salad.

All WINNING.

If you get a chance for cheap, do the 3500 swap.  It is even mo Betta.   It's like the 3400 dialed up a bit.  1st and 2nd gear are useless with 245 and an aggressive launch.
