SB Chevy Block Numbers

Hi, I have a 327 engine and I'm trying to decipher the numbers. The casting numbers tell me it was cast October 4,1962. The numbers stamped on the front of the block are 3101774 and FI005RE. Can anyone tell me what they stand for? Thanks, Tom

THAT is worth some bucks to the right guy. Special High Performance Engine from a early production 1963 Vette.....Sweet!!!!

Thanks for getting back to me. I was told it was from a Corvette but another vette guy said it was not. It had a windage tray in it so that made me think it was a high performance engine. I'm still not sure what the numbers stand for. Regards, Tom
