I have a 1970 Ford maverick that im building into a drift toy. I wanna be different and put a SR20 engine in it rather than putting a 302 in it like everyone does. This is my first engine swap so im just looking for advice on what I will need to keep from a donor car. I know that I will have to fabricate motor and transmission mounts. Im manly wondering about the electronics like the relays and stuff. Any advice is helpful to me since this is my first engine swap. Thanks.
You will have a hard time finding a donor car since rwd sr20's were not sold here. The closest thing you will find is probably a ka24de from a nissan pickup or 240sx.
You can get a Japanese sr20det take out or front clip from an engine importer. Get the harness and ECU with 12v to the harness you should be good to go.
Sounds like a really cool project. I love weird engine swaps!
