NMNA, but according to the seller, only needs a clutch...

Nice. Not many 5-speeds on those.

Very nice!  If it's like my 900, you pull the engine to get to the clutch.

Nice!  About 10 min from my parents' .  I already have a C900 parts car sitting in their yard awaiting pickup, or I'd be very interested in this.

914 - it's a less Saab-like drivetrain: standard transverse setup so the trans drops out the bottom.

This is a good deal and sorta local, but my yard has already rejected a Saab 9-5 of this vintage by throwing a tree at it, so I don't want to tempt fate.

Brief update: this car now has a new clutch, subframe bushings and exhaust.  Currently sitting in my parents' driveway awaiting a fly and drive in a couple weeks.  Stand by for a (hopefully boring) update.

So the fly and drive was completed. Film at 11.  Here is the end result:

completely uneventful drive, lots of boring droning on I-84/81/80.

640miles, 30.2MPG (according to the SID) at 75+, quiet and smooth, pulls hard enough to scare my daughter.  Its much faster than a $450 car should be.  The cosmetics are worse than expected (I think the PO either used the trunk as a workbench or butcher's table), and a complete set of pads/rotors are in the near future.
