NMNA, but the want is surprisingly strong...

That 305 V-6 makes some saweet noise. Classic body style. Truck there looks in decent shape, beware rust in NE state, probably not too much an issue w/ replacement/ patch panels and a MIG welder.
Had a '66 LWB 3/4T 4-speed but w/ step side bed, cool truck. Frames and driveline were stout. Super easy to work on. Knew all the sheetmetal rust areas.
like the step side a little better tho
Seller sez it's all solid, but the wood in the bed needs replacing. I personally prefer the fleetside look, and long beds just belong on trucks. There's a reason why 2 by fours are 8 feet long.
I agree!
My guy said it was mostly solid, too. Bring a magnet and look at the rockers, inner rockers, cab corners, and fender corners.
Real bed wood is pricey, but with a good router table and a real grasp of staining (not just miniwax on a rag in the yard) you can make it at home and buy the hardware.
Also, those V6s may currently be the least efficient way to get 140hp and 250 lb ft, but dang they are cool. They have 4.25" bore, too!
I dunno, a friend of mine just bought a Wagoneer with a 360 V8 that makes similar numbers.
"Your guy"?

The guy that I bought my truck from. Six years of rust repair later.
That AMC 360 was a dog, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMC_V8_engine) but bear in mind that this V6 almost has the displacement of that 360 V8!
Ah. I thought you had a "guy" up here checking out this GMC for you.
The V-6 is a 305, they had a 351 and even larger ones but this one's the "baby". Still a darn cool engine. Granny gear would probably be useful in the "I need to move my house 6 inches to the right" sort of way.
Those semi hemi 305 V6's are torque monsters but don't try to rev it past 4500 bad things happen. They also made 6 different designations of that motor A-F and when you get parts you'll need to know what letter you have, or it may not work right like the water pumps. I had a 62 pick up it was a stump puller but 50mph was maxed out.
