If this doesn't have GRM written all over it, I don't know what does...

Motor not swapped! Still a deal.

I almost feel like that's a better deal than if it was only half finished. I would bet there's significant recoup potential in the motor that's currently in it.

Oh man.

Non-driving 944 with bad paint and broken windshield (is it now leaking also!? Maybe the brake master is rusted solid because of the water leak from the broken windshield) - $1000 car, max.

Add $3-500 junkyard Chevy motor in deal, cannot check condition of, hard to transport.

Now worth an incredible $2500!

Maybe? I don't know what those wheels are worth. I think you'd have a hard time selling them for $1000 though, even if they are sought after?

Glancing at completed eBay auctions?  About $1500-2000:

Those are 930 Fuchs though.  I am not the expert on the nuances but those should be all the same width and offset unlike the more pricey wheels you linked to.  Plus older Fuchs seem to be a bit time-bomb-ish without crack & corrosion checks.  I think they're cool wheels but I don't think they're worth a grand for it.

Right, and it isn't like Porsches use some common bolt pattern... Sell the existing wheels for $700 and get some replacements for $500.

I put BMW wheels on my early offset car using adapters.  The adapters are a one time purchase.  BMW wheels are much cheaper and easier to find.

That said, finding less-liked 944 wheels for reasonable price isn't terribly hard, shipping them can be though.  I think I have a couple hundred in the two sets of 944 take offs I have squirreled away.  Joining the various Porsche and 944 forums and FB groups can help you ferret the deals out, that and poking around CL/FBM.
