In the mid to late 1980s, buyers had the opportunity to buy, essentially, a Mini that was built by De Tomaso, styled by Bertone, and powered by Daihatsu.

Beginning in 1983, a turbocharged model could even be had that was aptly named the Turbo De Tomaso. Power came from a turbocharged 993cc inline-three that was developed with help from Daihatsu that was good for around 71 horsepower and 70 lb.-ft. of torque.

In 1984, an improved Turbo model was introduced, this time with a turbocharged inline-three built entirely by Daihatsu. This model had a similar power output, but with peak torque closer to 80 lb.-ft. of torque.

This 1985 De Tomaso Innocenti Turbo is one of those later models, and is said to have only 58,400 miles on its odometer.

Although currently living in Canada, the seller assures that it can be “imported with no issues to the U.S.” as it currently meets the 25-year exemption rule. The car comes finished in a red-over-black exterior that matches the full-leather interior, and features extensive "De Tomaso" and "Turbo" badging.

Find this 1985 De Tomaso Innocenti Turbo for sale through eBay Motors for a Buy It Now price of $25,500 CAD (approximately $19,500).

My brother had one of these when they were new.  It was an absolute blast.
