I'm curious to see how many of our board members are vintage racers. Where else do you guys and gals hang out on the web?

I support vintage racing by attending events and helping a friend field his car... call me an "enlightened" spectator.. similar to bravenrace.

    I hope to be, soon.

('74 GTV that used to be an ITB car. I've had it far too long without it sitting on the ground)

It runs, just have to finish putting it together.

Probably VSCDA- since they run events here in Michigan.

I'm a member of VARAC, currently a certified Scrutineer. I pick up a 1970 GT6+ which will become my vintage racer, I'll be doing the entire build myself hopefully hitting the track in 2011. I'm on several Yahoo formums; GT6, GT6Spit and Locost enthusiasts forums. My local car club GBCC and the VARAC site.

    Cheers

I vintage race my '57 Austin-Healey 100-SIX MM as much as possible throughout the west coast and Canada. When not racing or working on race cars I visit this site and http://www.britishcarforum.com/bcforum/ubbthreads.php/forums/26/1/Racing.

Thanks Tim, I keep it period vintage race correct and street legal. It's both for show and to go.

Very active vintage racer. I also have a NASA race license and run track days (street Miata) but vintage is really my thing. My present Spridget has about 50 weekends on it (multiple races per weekend, including two four hour enduros).

    My recent races are ~HERE~

    I can't wait till Mosport.

For the last year I've been working hard to get myself to this point.

The car is a few days from being as ready I can get her.

I'm not expecting much from my first race. Treating it as a super exciting track day.

1973 Ford Capri. Previously, I vintage rallied it in the Ontario Performance Rally Championship. This year I will have a go at vintage racing with VARAC.

Haven't got around to it for a few years now - too much else on the plate, but have been doing it for 37 years. Even made up the T shirt.....

I race vintage and H-Production with my Spitfire. I did a double vintage race event at Limerock Pics last weekend and head back there in two weeks for an SCCA single.

Last weekend was run by the NY Jaguar club, SCCA HRG and VSCCA. Someone had a drop dead gorgeous 1964 Aston Martin DB4 in polished aluminum. Not a blemish on it, they ran it hard all weekend, a real treat for the eyes and ears.

Great-looking A-M. Reminds me of seeing Tony Wang beat the crap out of his beautiful GTO at Lime Rock.

    Also------Reminder!

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is only about five weeks away. This is a two-weekend affair:

The first weekend (July 16, 17, 18,) is at BeaveRun and the following weekend is on public streets (closed down, of course) in Shenley Park in the center of Pittsburgh. The BeaveRun event is run by the Vintage Racer Group (VRG) and the Shenely Park event is run by the VSCCA. Profits go to a great, local charity.

Here's -A Sample- of the BeaveRun event from last year.

Haven't been racing in a number of years except the occasional auto-X. My youngest has another year of college so the countdown continues...

Wow! Your classics are really awesome! I think being a classic car racer is really cool. I hope I could try it someday.

    Any suggestions?
