Our 1964 Lotus Elan project was finally done. Then it was time to detail it for the Amelia Island Concours. We enlisted the help of Tim McNair of Grand Prix Concours Preparation.

We have known Tim since he started, and his credentials include numerous Pebble Beach and Amelia Island Concours wins.

Normally Tim starts by wet sanding (3000 grit), polishing and waxing the paint to a luster so bright, you literally need sunglasses to look at the car.

This time around he spent a lot of time getting extra glue off the body where we had installed seals rather crudely.

From there we went through his normal routine and our Elan looked truly stunning for its trip to the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.
