I just re-read the back issue from 2003 with the Minivan vs. XKE and 356 article. I never get sick of that one. One thing that struck me was that, while the minivan was faster, the 356 and XKE were more fun, which proves that you don't have to have the fastest car to be having the most fun.
What about an article that compares new high-hp, heavy-weight performance cars (Challenger, Camaro, Nissan GTR, etc) with cheaper, modern and 'drivers cars' (Miata, Mazdaspeed3, Focus SVT, etc) to see if it's possible that a low-hp, light weight and relatively cheap used car like a Miata (or dare I say, early Boxster) is more fun to drive than a new high-hp heavy-ass performance car.
We all know what the outcome would be, but it could be a fun article for you guys to write and for us to read.
