I am on some forums that have a chatbox on the top of the page. Has something similar been considered for the next version of the forum? It might cut back on pointless threads and give users an easy place to post random chatter.

Chatbox? I know nothing of these...chatboxes.
The danger of a chatbox is the possibility of a useful thread turning into easily losable chatbox banter. But they are quite useful, and fun.

I think a chatbox @ the GRM forums would be an awful, awful thing.

I can only imagine what it'd bring. Considering the level of trash I talk on my own forum, i think it'd be a bad idea to let me use this one. I'd get to know everyone better, and that's when the trolling tends to start.

Chat is not currently on the list of things to do. Interesting suggestion, but unless there's a groundswell of customer demand I don't anticipate that coming.
