It looks like the discussion boards are broken whenever you try to browse them in Google Chrome...

It makes me a sad panda.

How so? I'm looking at them in Chrome right now.

It seems rather erratic. Sometimes it'll happen, other times it won't.

I use Chrome pretty regularly. I suspect whatever problems you were experiencing weren't related to Chrome. Most browsers seem to play well with our site with the huge, glaring exception of Internet Exploder.

I'll see if I can find any rhyme or reason to it, or if it was a yesterday thing. Right now I'm back to Firefox for a while.

I use Chrome and this started happening to me after the big redesign a week or so ago. A thread will choke while loading, killing any open GRM forum tabs in my browser - though all the other tabs still work fine. It happens constantly, and it's the first time I've ever encountered this error. It happens on both my laptop and home PC. I hadn't made a big deal about it because I thought I was the only one. lol - it's happened twice while trying to update this post.

Interesting. I think that's what chrome does when it fails... rather than take down the whole browser, it kills the thread and keeps the browser chugging along. Very cool, but different than other browsers (although i think they're adding the feature, too).

Anyways, that makes me think it's either Javascript or Flash somewhere on the page run amok. Both could explain why its intermittent, too.

Actually, Chrome runs each page as a separate process (just as an aside).

I've had no problems accessing GRM via Chrome on both Windows and MacOS X, but if it is/might be Flash running wild, that would explain why I've never seen this problem as I've got a flash blocker installed...

Ahh...now this is beginning to make some more sense.

I wonder which of the the flash banners is the culprit...time for some testing.

Right.. Process. Not thread. I always confuse the two.

Smart advertisers don't use flash ads. Getting blocked by half your potential customers and annoying the other half is not good business.

IE puts the hate on this site in the worst way. I have to go home to look at te hotlink thread, because the pics are all parsed all funny on IE. What am I supposed to do at work.... actually work?

I agree with nderwater. I clicked a link to open a forum post in a new tab, and all of my GRM tabs went kablooie at the same time (1 source tab, 1 new target tab and 1 innocent bystander tab).

    Back to firefox for now...
