Why does a serach for a thread seam to turn up all kinds of useless threads that have nothign to do with what I'm searching for?

    Frustrating...

    Don't bother with it.

Use google. Search "Grassroots motorsports whatever it is you're searching for."

Our search functionality is flawed. The advanced search works better, especially for broad topics and message board posts, but can still be troublesome.

Example- search for "challenge miata" gives me these results. Challenge Miata, which I'd say isn't too bad.

You can sometimes get better results going through google, as 92Celica points out. Just put "Grassroots Motorsports" in the search. For example- "Grassroots Motorsports Sachs MadAss" gives us this result.

Compare that with what the on-site search delivers (Click here) and using google makes a good deal of sense.

Like so many other issues with our website, a fix IS coming. It's still a ways off, but will be worth it. (Alternatively, I'm moving to a mountain in Tibet.)

With google, you can also use site:grassrootsmotorsports.com.

where "civic grassroots motorsports" looks for things relevant to those three words, "civic site:grassrootsmotorsports.com" looks for results for "civic" and limits the search to items on grassrootsmotorsports.com
