Holy S$#!. Glad I looked at the price before getting to the cashier. That is absurd.

The subscription is your friend. The ten year is the best dollar value on the magazine, but re-upping every two or three will get you a t-shirt each time. (I LOVE the new GRM black shirt.) If you just flat out cannot afford the subscription, ask around at your local autocross. You'll often find someone who will gift you their back issues.
You know that you want to subscribe just to get the black shirt.....

Unfortunately getting the magazines to newsstand isn't an inexpensive proposition. On the plus side, we still give you an excellent per-page value, tons of entertainment and a money-back guarantee. It's also a magazine that still interacts with the readers practically 24/7.
And as Joey noted, a subscription is the better deal.
Want an even better, better deal? How about an issue for free?

Seven?? I stopped buying other specialty mags (wooden boat) when they hit $6. Hadn't noticed the cover price due to just sending in the subscription checks. One monthly publication I get is $54 a year, but it carries no advertising.
Cover price goes up, yet the circulation and page count goes up. You guys are doing something right.
How far are you along on the all Web edition? Or did I miss it already.?

A digital option for magazines is coming, but it's behind a website rework for both Classic Motorsports and Grassroots Motorsports in terms of priority; figure at least 6 months away.

I'd pay $7 at the stand with no problems. That's two gallons of gas at most, and the magazine lasts longer.

I dare you to compare what that $7 gets you compared to Tooner or Moduhfied, Car Crap, Stupor Chevy etc etc etc....compare the ad count, page count, RACE COVERAGE, new car reviews and so on and so forth and all of these things. For that extra buck or 2 you get approximately eleventy twenty seventeen percent more awesome. Some people cant handle that much win between the covers of a single mag...I for one appreciate it!

Better still, join NASA. $45 gets you a year of the mag plus you have to have it to go their auto-x, track events or get a comp lic.

THIS. Also, look at the price of some of the specialty European car magazines. evo is like $11-12 an issue and really only worth it for entertainment value, not as offering the world's best density of knowledge, trivia, and humour that GRM does.

Yikes! That reminds me, my NASA subscription is up. I think I'm going the GRM route this time, just for the black T shirt.

i've renewed and not gotten a free T-shirt. Is this GRM's way of telling me they don't like Gingers in their forums/magazines?

Is there some super secret code I need to get a T shirt with my multi year subscription, or was it a one time deal? I'm not seeing that anywhere.
I've been a subscriber since it was called Auto-X, but for the past few years I've been getting it through NASA, so, I guess technically, I would be a new subscriber.

Exactly. If I weren't a subscriber I'd have no issue paying that compared to some of the other magazines

I was going to pick up another mag the other day... can't even think of what it was... $7.99... it's one that I used to buy on occasion for 3-4$... I had to put it down and walk away...
GRM is well worth subscribing to... but even before I had the subscription i'd make it a point to go and buy it at the news stand (not easy to find outside of B&N around here)

I can only find the option for a 1 year subscription. Can someone point me to the 3 year with tshirt?
-
Aug. 28, 2011 1:57 p.m. Marjorie Suddard General Manager
Look at the top LH corner of this pg, next to the GRM logo. Click that "subscribe" link. Choose the 3-yr option in the next screen, fillin your info incl. T-shirt size, pay with cc, wait for nature's bounty to arrive.

EASY! Done!
For some reason, when I was clicking on the subscribe link, it was only allowing me the option of a 1 year subscription. I think I was getting to it from the homepage, though.
:)
