E-Bay item number 260469726528, major project. It will bring tears to the eyes of anybody that cares about these. Whoever allowed this deterioration should be flogged. Salvageable? Oh yeah, no title.

I kinda like it that there's people out there that will let that happen to a cool car - makes it possible for people like me to have one.

I am thankful that I am fairly certain I could never fit in that thing to drive it.

It doesn't look that bad to me... considering there is no title - its a trailered race car. So, absolutely nothing is out of scope. No originality... no nothing. The only thing that looks out of shape is the price - I want it for $500.

I suppose it could be salvaged. Anyone who wants a go should check out the Wheeler Dealer episode on the Lotus Espirit (its on youtube). Of all their episodes, they actually did some serious work on that one.

I don't know what interets me more about this auction; the car or the mysterious desert ranch setting.

He probably figured out what would be entailed to get that thing to smog.

I think $1750 is too high. For what it would take to get it to driveable, you could just go buy one already driveable, with a title. Right now, supercar value is tanking. I've seen Stevens Esprits in the 12K range, and V8's in the 20's.

Where do college kids get all this money to piss away these days?

I was broke during college and worked my way through and nursed my used 5 year old VW until I graduated and got a job.

You were lucky to have a vw! There were a hundred and fifty of us, living in a shoebox in the middle of the road!

Ah, but you tell that to young people these days... they'll not believe you.

This has been on mty watched list since it was posted. Now at where it is price wise my interest has disappeared. It is sad...

Crappy job of mounting the coilovers. Tires are all wrong for a race car too, they wouldn't be of much use except rollarounds.

I guess it would be worth around $1750 as a start for a dedicated gutted race car but no way for a restoration. Of course at that point (3 days to go) it hasn't met reserve either. I wish the new owner luck, he or she is gonna need it.
