Anyone own an awd Celica? Would it be a decent rallycross/DD/hoonage kind of car?

Others will have more experience but I expect the answer to be yes.

paging Halftrac for general ear-bleeding/eye-glazing knowledge on said subject . . .

Yes! Parts are a little tougher to come by, but 3sgte turbo goodness.

Were all the 4wd Celicas turbocharged, or were there normally aspirated ones available?

Doesn't matter now, the ad just disappeared a few minutes ago !

The Celica all-tracs were all turbo with some variant of the 3sgte.

1986 celica AWD didn't exist.
That's the history lesson for today.

What year did they start then? I saw an ad for an 86 4wd, that's why I started this thread. Guy mustn't know what he's got.

In the US, 88-89 was the ST165 alltrac, then the ST185 was 90-93.
Some countries overseas got the GT4 in 87 i think, but they're extremely uncommon.
86, the best you can hope for is a Celica GTS, which isn't a bad car in itself anyways. Somewhat light, good handling, very reliable, and a nice 5spd mated to a 3sge motor. 140hp or so.

There was the Corolla All Trac as well, NA though. I have seen them on CL for rather cheap, but they do not have the following that the celica's have, thus I'd think parts would be even harder to find
