    Hey all,

Well, due to recent difficulties, I've 'inherited' a car, a '94 Eagle Vision ESI. Does anyone know ANYTHING about these cars? I hate having something I can't "hop up" a little bit, but beggars can't be choosers and it's free. 58k miles, great condition, one owner, my grandma.

Is there even a forum for these things?

Thanks, guys! Miss being here, but found out my ex is on meth and selling drugs, so I thankfully have custody of my daughter and a restraining order in place... It's going to be a process, but all the evidence is on my side. (Just in case anyone remembers my post a month ago or so about my family problems...)

Vision=Dodge Intrepid. Try looking around for stuff for those.

Haven't seen one of those on the road in quite some time.

The Eagle was by far the best looking and sportiest of the Dodge Intepid, Chrysler Concorde(?), Vision triplets.

I think the ESI was the top of the line, too. I always liked them.

Things might not be a wash. I have found EIbachs made for Intrepids but you might have to check the parts workability from later models onto the earlier ones. I'm sure you could play around with the swaybars too. Looking on that forum, it looks they have plenty of oomph. I can back that up..A friend of mine in high school briefly drove one and they can definitely move when you mash the go pedal..

What motor. The 3.5L had a resinator in the intake that was worth an honest 8-10 hp by removing it. Find a TSI version in the JY and swap in the auto stick! The sway bar links last about 7 speed bumps before they crap out, replace with Moog units. The HVAC was crap, mostly the evaporator leaked like a screen door on a battle ship. Nice car all around though. I was a tech at a jeep/eagle dealership for years.

My dad had a new one back in the mid-90s. Total rubbish, that thing was. Traded it for an Accord and never looked back. Great on paper, but completely unreliable.

We had a '93 Intrepid that was eventually bought back by Chrysler under lemon law threat. When it was running, it was a nice car... except the headlights... which were absolutely horrible... even the hi-beams looked like a couple candles one the front of the car...

My advice: Drive it. Maintain it. But don't bother modding it. Save your money for something more worthy. This is sort of how I feel about my TDI (which is much easier to modify).

would it be okay to sell it? I know sometimes if they're inherited it's not cool with the rest of the family. But seriously, it's worth decent coin for the low mileage, and almost anything is a better car, unless it's a 3.3, in which case it could be okay-ish considering it was free.

Oh, there was a sound. It sounded like the merger of equals. When Daimler came in, Eagle went out. Eagle was the brain child of Chysler after it bought AMC.

It could be worse. You could have inherated a Eagle Premier or worse yet, the Eagle Medalion.

We do remember your post, sorry to hear that she is even more involved in drugs, and that it is what it took for your daughter to have a better life. Keep up on working hard on putting your daughter first and you will reap great benefits for her and you.

Best of luck and God bless.

    Darned right we remember.

I also recall you were looking for a low priced transportation appliance. This car probably qualifies.

I glad to hear you've got custody. I know you are still pretty young, and this is a very fast growing up experience, but keep up the effort. There will be things you think you have to sacrifice that will later prove to be worthless anyway, when measured against the relationship with your daughter.

Surround yourself with strong people of character to lean on. I am of the opinion that churches are good places to find these kind of people, but find them somewhere.

    Keep it up!

    God bless you.
