Hey I'm wonder what my options are? I have a line on a good cheap 98 s70 n/a, but I'm told they're junk for modding for power, will a turbo motor just drop right in? What's needed, worth doin or just keep looking for a turbo?

I just ran one in a demo derby type roundy roundy race. Strip it of almost everything and it is down right peppy.

As a general rule, it's cheaper to buy a car with the engine you want than to swap said engine. To make it financially viable you would need to buy and part a donor turbo car. Might as well just buy a turbo car to start with.

That's what I was afraid of

850/S70 Turbos are pretty cheap too. It's probably just as easy to swap a turbo engine into a NA 5spd as it is to convert and automatic turbo to manual.

If you have the time to hunt for the right donor and do the swap, reselling the unneeded stuff, it could be worth it.

A ton of time, so it has to be worth it to you.

Tyler H. said "A ton of time, so it has to be worth it to you." Absolutely true. So much of the stuff we get into has that consideration. Especially so if what you're looking for came stock from the factory. Sometimes it's just not worth the heartache.
