Did you know that the Lexus introduced the concept of the gas/electric luxury SUV more than a decade ago? How time flies, right? One second you’re first hearing about this idea and then, bam, they’re everywhere and you realize that you totally missed out on the fidget spinner craze.

The fourth-generation RX has now been with us for two years, and it continues to be available with gas or hybrid propulsion.

As per the Lexus media site, here’s what’s new 2018: Sunroof and Blind Spot Monitoring System now available on base model Available New Premium Package (RX 450h only) and repositioned base model Enform Safety Connect Complimentary for First 10 Years of Ownership Enform Service Connect Complimentary for First 10 Years of Ownership

Our 2017 Volvo S60 doesn't have any drivetrain lash issues with the auto / start / stop feature.  It's pretty much seamless and smooth on restart / launch.  The Audi A3 I test drove was much worse.  The only 2 issues I have with Volvo's system are:

1) It defaults to ON every time you start the car (some cars do not).  Not really an issue, but it would be nicer if it stayed where you set it.

2) It's a shade too quick in shutting off the engine.  If you are pulling into a parking space and happen to stop a little short during touchdown, it will turn the car off when you still need to creep forward.  It starts back up again as soon as you take your foot off the brake, but it would be nice if it gave you even a half-second more grace.
