When I was planning on doing my 5 lug swap, I always looked for/at 90 model rotors.

Just looking through my 95 Dak FSM, the 4cyl is a PITA, at least as factory produced.

I cant think of a single thing that is hard to get to on a 2.5 dakota.. maybe the rear cam seal?

bear in mind that the Dakotas were built on the full-sized truck chasis and are very heavy. Not a logical combo IMO.

BS. A single cab short bed 4cyl is around 3000 lbs, and an extended cab shortbed v6/v8 still weighs less than my dodge magnum station wagon.

Back to the topic at hand, do you really need to use the FWD intake manifold? There are many ways to skin this cat as I can see......

As opposed to... a carb or tbi manifold? Yes, you have to use the turbo intakes as the foundation for your manifold. The non-turbo manifolds interfere with the turbo/exhaust manifold.

and the turbo where the RH motor mount is.

The turbo doesn't actually interfere with the motor mount to my knowledge. However, most people end up modifying the swingvalve housing (basically the turndown with the downpipe flange on it) of the turbo to get a more suitable downpipe setup.

Also, of the 2 stock turbos that came on those motors, people only seem to be able to run the smaller mitsu te04 and still be able to get an intake pipe on between the compressor cover and the firewall.

One thing which can make the whole operation a lot simpler is to make a pipe with turbo flanges on both ends that bolts to the stock exh mani and moves the turbo out from under the intake where it can be flipped to put the intake at the front and the exhaust at the back.

Another intake option is to cut off the throttle body end of the plenum, cap it off, cut the other end open and weld a TB flange over there.

Thats what most people end up doing. The 88-93 '1 piece' intake actually has a large hole at the other end with a core plug in it that you can knock out and mount the TB over. The rarer 87-88 2 piece intake has a nice flange between the runners and plenum that you can get the plenum flange for and build a custom plenum to bolt on if you were so inclined.
