    Huh? I wasn't constraining my observation to any particular time period, just a generalized comparison between all Windsor family heads (which would include 302W and 351W). In any case, I was wrong... or more accurately, mistaken. I guess I was thinking about GT40 vs. E7 Powerhead stats I'd seen. The fact is that stock E7s suck a bunch and '69-'70 351W suck slightly less, GT40/P/Y are pretty okay, ported E7 are pretty good.     And really, when I think about streetable powerplants that are economical and nicely mannered, I think of NASCAR motors for my Rachero project.

    was that the original point of this thread? there is that place in North Carolina that sells detuned NASCAR engines and slightly used NASCAR drivetrain and chassis parts.. i'm sure they'd have something awesome for your Ranchero..
