hehehehe... 20V works... but with a little extra engineering so will a supercharger version of the "A" enigne
The Corolla All-Trac came in wagon1988-1992(unique body style for US), and sedan88, and 89 only(looks like every other AE92 sedan)
The transaxle is an "E" series, the "E" is stronger then the "C" series transaxles
The suspension is AE92 up front, with AE86 out back(panhard rod mounted reverse)
The original engine is a 4AFE rated @ 100hp and 90#/ft. The engines in the All-Tracs are pretty bad to start a build from. The cranks are flimsy, and the rest of the internals quite cheap. The nice thing is being in the "A" family, any or all of the internals from the 4AGE(or 4AGZE) will still work inside. The block is unique to the transaxle, it has a cast in notch to allow the tight fitment of the E55 transaxle. The 20V has a similar notch cast in the block, but further machining of the outside of a 20V is required to get it to fit.
I'm currently working on building a All-Trac sedan. Initially I'm updating the head and manifold to a 2nd generation(3rd gen requires MASSIVE amount of additional mods to get it to work) Head is ported, bottom end will be 4AGE, but using 8.9 - 1 4AGZE pistons... which under a 4AFE head will bump compression from 9.5 to 10.0. They will also be substantially tougher, and ideal IF I supercharge it later
