    1,2,3,4,5,6,...8.

Look at that embarassing hole. No 7. I've had engines with all those cylinder counts, but no 7 cylinder engine. Looking around, the only way I can find to get a 7 cylinder is either a radial engine (airplane) or some weird Russian equipment.

Well heck, I guess I'm just going to have to go find a 7 cylinder radial engine, with a plane attached, to finish out the collection.

Then I can start fretting on the lack of a 9 cylinder engine.

my thoughts exactly, but you might want to unplug the injector as well.

and do the same to 10 and 12 cylinder engines to get you 9 and 11

Before I put on the MSD, my Cadillac would run on anything from 5 to 8 cylinders at a given time. You never knew exactly which ones. But since each cylinder was pretty close to a litre in size, you didn't really miss one or two...

    Wouldn't that be considered a 21 cylinder?

    7 cylinder? Would that be:

    ~Longitudinal?~,

    ~Transverse?~

    or ~Micro?~

    Mid-engined Radial-powered Goggomobile...

it is a nine cylinder though...I know the owner of Waco Classic airplane manufacture, I could probably get you a radial if you really want one...

I love the "lumpy" sound of odd numbered radials.

If you have extra money, you can buy brand new straight-7 engine from SisuDiesel http://www.agcosisupower.com/products/agco_sisu_power_engines/off-road_application...

I think the only I-7 out there is a diesel unit from a piece of farm equipment.

You could always convince VW to make a VR8, then drop a cylinder off of it (VR6->VR5), BAM! 7-cylinder.

There is a new 7 cylinder engine out there. Sisu, part of AGCO has introduced a 7 cylinder diesel engine for use in large tractors and combines. With the power needed, six cylinders are not large enough, V8's are too wide for tractor applications and straight 8's are too long.

    7 cylinder diesel...

you just need the cargo ship that holds it.
