Is it possible to make this full size truck turn like my nissan 240sx ?

I was thinking of relocating the engine behind the cab adding turbo indipendent rear suspension then cutting as much weight from it as possible .

Or should I just find a mini truck and do the same .

But the 76 could be had cheap

The 2 biggest probs with trucks, as far as handling are front weight bias (with the result: a very loose rear end if not weighted down with something) and their tall "stance". There are kits/parts that will drop this truck to where it scrapes the pavement, then it's a ,matter of adding those aforesaid sticky tires (A good think about trucks is they have huge wheelwells.) and good springs and shocks or as already said "bag it". The front weight bias? Well, there is alot of fiberglass available to get weight off the front (fg hoods, fenders, doors?) and that is certainly cheaper than relocating the engine and tranny.

I'm surprised, most mid '70s Chevy/GMC pickups I see are very rusty, especially the hoods and rockers, to the point that they are somewhat rare here.

If you want a truck that handles well, a 67-72 with traling arm rear suspension will be far better. It wouldnt be cheap, but you could get one to handle pretty well.

Sounds like he's got weight bias licked if he wants to move the motor to behind the cab.

I really want to say simply, "No." But I believe anything is possible.

    But it would be tough.

If you know anyone going through south GA, I've got a complete IRS hub-hub from a Supra that might be just perfect.

Travis... +1 on the truck arm suspension.

One of the things that will limit you on handling with that truck is stance. You can only go so low without c-notching the frame. You can make it handle spryly without it, but not like a 240.

the addco 1 1/8" rear sway bar is the best thing you can do, we have one on the 90 suburban coupled with the largest factory front bar available and the thing handles damn nice. i can just imagine what it would do with a 3/4 drop and some impala SS 17's with good tires.
