Is there a particular electical issue that would blow an 80 amp main fuse? Looked at a Miata that had such a problem and the owner had no idea what might have caused it. I didn't either, so I am asking you lot who are infinitely smarter than I.
Thanks.

What they said and probably a result of someones that thinks they know electrics.
and I might resemble that remark sometimes myself.

Had a rocket scientist attempt to jump start my Miata by putting positive to negative / negative to positive. One fried radio and fuseible link, it ran again. Never underestimate the power of stoopid.

Short somwhere?
Oh, that's been said already.......
With the battery in the trunk it is possible the main + cable rubbed through on the chassis?
