Bring the remains of the cable to your local motorcycle shop, or send it to my 76 year old ex-boss. He needs the spending money.

You might check with FiestaFrank..
If he doesn't have one, I know the early Escorts used the (basically) same carbs, it might not be too hard to adapt. I have also heard of people adapting bicycle brake cables.

Thanx all for suggestions - will probably go with bicycle cable...did that years ago when a mechanic somehow managed to snap the throttle cable on my Triumph Spitfire during its state inspection.
