Soo a friend just drove up from Boston to spend the day in beautiful balmy Portland. He took his new-to-him 944.

He parked it and we spent a lot of time fiddling with the sunroof and various things inside the car, only to have it quit starting. When we opened either door, the alarm sounded.

I think the starting and the alarm thing are related. He has no clue what sort of alarm system is in the car, and I certainly don't. He also doesn't have a key fob for any kind of remote start system.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Lock then unlock the door with the key, that should reset it. Try both doors.

Thanks Dean, that did the trick. Car is now alarm-less.
