I have a neighbor with above car and he can not find any info regarding the convertible top. No service manual, parts sheet, nothing. Anyone have any info?

I have an 86, tell him to push the metal bar into the top when he puts it down if the bungi cord stuff doesn't pull it anymore. What does he need to know?
