That would be intake and exhaust ... complete. It's pretty light. I carried a complete shorblock to my shed alone and it wasn't that bad.

Ditto on the engine weights. Without seeing the engine on a scale, there's no way to know what's included and what isn't. Human nature being what it is, various bits are always left out, resulting in optimistic weights, kind of like a fishing story in reverse...
That said, modern aluminum block 4-cyl engines all seem to be very close to 300 lbs when ready to start, my Honda K24 is. Oh, and figure about another 100 lbs for the tranny and hardware thats always forgotten. Older engines with iron blocks and/or heads, even with equivalent displacement can be a lotheavier.

Anyone know the weights of the Duratecs or the Triumph 1500? Or any ideas of making a Fiat 128 engine RWD? Also I know the MG Midget with the 1500 got twin SUs and higher compression over in Europe. How hard/ expensive is it to get these parts?

You don't want a BL 1500, a 1275 puts out as much power when built and doesn't throw rods through the block at random.

1500's don't throw rods, they just melt the bearings and turn the big ends blue.
