Saw these today and thought you guys would appreciate them. I love me a lifted golf and even more so when they've got big knobby tires.

Its a Laforza. The perspective makes it looks smaller than it really is. I'd say its real close to an exploder in size

I saw a Laforza on the freeway the other day and it looks like (and is about the size of) a widened, slightly lifted Isuzu Trooper from the rear. That Golf is awesome!

I have never even heard of them. What the heck? Are there other recent USA made vehicles that are low production numbers?

There's a laforza that's been for sale around here forever. Every time I see it, I think (in order):

"that's wierd" "kind of cool" "actually not all that wierd or cool. just boring, ugly, and looks like it was made in China to resemble a land rover."

years ago I talked to a guy who owned one, who said the interior is great, the off-road ability is very good, and the exterior looks like someone made it in their garage (his words)

If I recall correctly, they used a 5.0 Ford, so engine parts aren't hard to source.

I wish I had pictures of my find... a beautiful late 70s Beetle carbriolet. it was at least post 75 due to the fuel injected rear panel and single exhaust.

What got my attention was how quiet it was. I am so used to the "bug whistle" on the few I see, It's silence was almost deafening. You could just about make out the flat 4 throb and the cooling fan.. that was it.

I love the truck style fold out mirrors on the Golf. This begs for a run off between this awd Golf a the Wagon Attack II.

So, is this a new trend in the world of VW?

The Baja Style Bug is popular but a Squareback; now that's cool. So I figure there had to be...and there is...

I snapped that at a junkyard parking lot. The owner clearly loves the car: very clean and well-done.

There was also an old early- to mid-80s Subaru hatchback there that had been painted with camo and lifted, literally, two feet, if not more, with a bunch of questionable-looking angle iron and what-not. Snohomish County, WA, loves them some mud. They also loves them some crystal meth: the Subie had dinky little tires on it cuz, apparently, some meth-heads had stolen the guy's huge tires...

    What's next -- off-road Mini? [two-second search] Well, duh:
