After the recent post on using bottlecap style wheels on a late model Hyundai Accent, I'm going to look at a set for sale. Do you think $20.00 per wheel is a reasonable price? In the photos, they look OK - needs some cleanup, but otherwise they look fine.

    Thanks,

    Paul

$20 each is getting close to scrap value. It's a fine price assuming they're passably straight.

I paid $100 for my set, which had been refinished at some point, with a set of old tires on them.

Yea, that's about right, they are cheap!

$80-150 is pretty much the normal price for unexciting alloy wheels. The junkyard here charges $150 a set I think, and they still seem to prefer scrapping them (they usually pull one to break up the complete sets before they put cars in the yard, im guessing its so people can get a replacement stock wheel for their car, but they wont get people buying sets of 4 very often).

That's about right. I don't like to go over $150 with tires for a set of bottlecaps. My last two sets of basketweaves were in this same range, too.

Thanks - I'll see how they are 'for real' tomorrow.
