With the old cabinets underneath our ramp truck removed, the first thing we would need to do is find some new cabinets. Browsing online, we thought we saw what we needed. Northern Tool had a variety of 18-inch-deep and 18-inch-tall cabinets that looked well made.

At an average of about $300 each, we were able to outfit the entire truck for less than $2000. We picked up two 24-inch cabinets and one 60-inch cabinet for each side. This effectively more than doubled our storage space.

We bolted and welded the new cabinets in place. We did have to modify one cabinet to clear the fuel filler. With our Eastwood Plasma 60 we were able to cut the top of one cabinet and then reverse it into place. We welded that, added some filler metal and voila. After some seam sealer we had a waterproof cabinet that would clear our fuel filler.
