Hey guys, quick question. I'm welding in a-pillars on the cab of my truck. The pillars are cut from another cab a couple years newer. The replacement pillars don't want to sit exactly like the originals. If I pull and push in certain areas I can get everything to be where the originals were, but it wants to spring back when I let go.

Is it okay to tack everything together under tension like this, or should I spend time making relief cuts and bending things a bit so everything lines up in a relaxed state?

These old Chevy's weren't exactly precision machines when new. Don't fret it. X2 on make sure the doors still fit. For everything else, there is filler.
