The first-ever East Coast Concours d'LeMons will take place at our Classic Motorsports Mitty: April 29-May 2 at Road Atlanta. Well, the concours will have a special class for $200X Challenge cars. Yep, bring your Challenge car, hang out, and be treated like a rock star.

Details on the concours will soon be posted here: http://www.concoursdlemons.com/participantsGA.html

For details on the Mitty, go here: http://classicmotorsports.net/events/mitty-2010/

Questions? Ask away. If we don't know the answer, we'll at least come up with something clever.

MITTY! This will be my first vintage event... What should I look out for?

I am aiming to have this event be the first outing for my Supra.

Why does the Mitty have to be the weekend before finals? Now to decide if it is worth it or not.

hmm there is something going on this weekend and i can't remember right now. It used to be finals, but i think my sister might be graduating from college...hmmm?

wow, looks like a fun event.

I scanned the mitty description but i think i missed the part where it talks about what kind of racing we will do in our challenge cars? Against each other on a road course? Im sure as hell unlikely to drag this heap that far just to stain your parking lots!

Wow, I might actually be able to come, and the Merkur is actually in running form, woah...

We did get to do some parade laps last year, but I also would have to consider if it is worth dragging the Hillbilly Hauler 800 miles for that

If I bring the Challenge car will I need to pay for the Lemons event as well?

Anyone ever camped down there? Facilities decent?

Camping is a very popular option at the Mitty. It's a big facility, and there are showers in a couple spots for you to use.

The Concours d'LeMons entry does carry a separate fee from your Mitty ticket entry, but entering the CdL also includes that day's Mitty admission and a goody bag with GRM/CdL swag.

I was thinking maybe bring the challenge car for the simple fact of the fast laps and its light to tow up there . Need a new clutch in it but sounds like an idea

Damn. I was really hoping to get the LeMons car out there, but it now lives in Tampa The good news is, I WILL have two big jugs of Vodka, and a gallon milk jug full of home-made bloody mary mix...and probably a bottle of whiskey...and some beers...and hotdogs...and hamburgers...and brats...and a pillow.

you forgot the beans and sausages, and what's this pillow blasphemy for? A spare tire works just fine, and serves a purpose...

and what's this pillow blasphemy for?

In the interest of keeping this thread PG-13, let's just say it involves three 200+ pounders (2 of which tip the scales at a little over 300,) a bottle of everclear, a little skinny berkeleyer named angry, some PB blaster, and a lot of muffled screams. What happens in the bathrooms at turn 5 stays in the bathrooms at turn 5.

i feel violated just reading that. and i'd totallyy be there if not for the revised work/life arrangement. the SAE Applied Vehicle Dynamics seminar is the first three weekdays following the Mitty, so if enrollment hits 24 i may be able to tie the two events together. if the SAE seminar doesn't fill up, there's no way i can make the mitty this year.

Hey if you guys are interested in the Concours d' Lemons we would lvoe to see the Challenge cars attend. The cost is cheap and gets you free parking in the infield on Sunday and covers your admission for Sunday. More info is at http://www.concoursdlemons.com

Another cool tidbit is that Pete Brock, our own Tim Suddard and Bill Warner, founder of the Amelia Island concours are the judges.

Sign up early and save 5 bucks.

Also if you have any other "different" or "special" cars, say a Renault Fuego/Alliance/ Encore/Le Car, Chrysler TC by Maserati or even a Pacer or Gremlin, they are all welocme as entrants.

Personally I would love to see a mint condition Fuego in person.

hrrrmmmm...my grandfather in law happens to have one thats been in a garage for a couple decades...crinkley tires and dust laden, its still clean and fresh. The varnish in the gas tank may not be healthy for it to drink, but theres the slightest possibility that I can make this car mine (grandpa doesnt drive anymore). Whats FMV for a fuego in decent shape? Challenge level?

About $2,500 in perfect shape running well with no needs would be my bet.

I missed one last year in that condition. Maybe missed is the wrong work, possibly ducked is more appropriate. :)

ha, ducked...nice. I will have to see if the one in grandpas garage runs. I could probably get it for a song, but if I wanted to introduce it to the challenge, I would have to be fair in reporting.

I wonder if theres any market for Fuego passenger/rear seats or AC units
