I'm in love with the new Boss 302 for 2013. I am ready to put a down payment on one and trade in my 2010 4-dr Si for one. The Si is a great AutoX car, great for driving around everyday, very comfortable, and it has done very well at the track days I've got too. I just miss having torque and rwd on a daily basis. AmIcrazy?

Yes. Aren't you about to join up? While there are a shocking amount of Airmen with nice cars, I'm not sure how they pay for them...

If I didn't have a collection of the weird and strange, I am thinking I would do that as well, so if you are mad, I am also.

You're not crazy for falling in love with another car, but you are crazy for thinking about trading in a year old car.

private sale would most likely get you a better return on the Honda, but you're still gonna take a hit. Are you ready for the extra gas and insurance the Mustang will require?

Yes, you are crazy.
But no more so than anyone else around here. A Boss is on my list, once it depreciates enough, or I win the lotto, or my kids finish college...

I dunno, the 1-year-old car thing here might work in Mr. Dirty's favor. The "new" Civic has been pretty universally decried as being not as good as the last-gen (which is what Birdman owns), so his may actually be worth more now than he paid for it.

In reply to Javelin:
I've seen year old Civic Sis sitting on the used lot for as much as brand new ones. Now I know why.

Used cars are hot and hard to find right now because of the death of leasing a few years ago + domestic dealers that became used cars stores after getting the axe + general car sales being down. The best guess is 2012 will be a good time to trade in your car, 2013 will be the start of a downward trend because of the return of leasing and car sales rebounding. You might be able to make this work.
