So we picked up a Nitrous kit to run on our Challenge car tonight. It is an edelbrock system. Appears to be a "wet" set up where you run the fuel line and nitrous line to the plate. Further than that I have no clue. We were planning to run a different car but never really got any work done on it.

Any ideas where to charge this think in Gainesville?

Anyone familiar with NOS that would like to help install it Thursday or Friday before the Saturday Drags.

Look for the poo brown RX-7 Lemons/Chumpcar with a V8. Also if anyone has 5X114.3 Wheels with autocross slicks they are willing to let us borrow for some $$ that would be swell.

    Thanks,

    Greg

I've installed nitrous before, although it didn't work out very well for our '10 Challenge Civic last year. :D

I'm down to help, find the A&M guys and ask for Jake.

Not sure, but you could try Rollins.

    Thanks so far guys!

I would prefer not to blow this motor up as it has run pretty strong in the two lemons/chump races we have done with it.

Looks like we have two unknown jets (need to look up the number codes) and two 120 shot jets. It came with an MSD start/retard box which hopefully is compatible with the standard ignition we are running on it.

Greg, I have a full 10lb bottle that I most likely will not be using now that I will bring with. If you can't find one to fill you can "rent" it for the challenge. Do you need extra nozzles to tune? What intake are you running? I may be able to get my hands on an intake NOS plate as well. Hell, I'll bring it all.

5x114.3 wheels: I've got a set with autocross slicks. I just need to pull them off my dead Challenge car and throw them in the truck. Do you need drag slicks too? I've got 2 on wheels that I won't be using. Send me a PM asap to let me know what you need.

Greg, I should not type when I am this tired. I misspoke on the wheels/tires. They are currently on 5x110 dodge wheels NOT 5x4.5(114.3). Those are the wheels on my 122S and swapping it all around is not possible. So you still need to find those. Sorry about that. I'll still bring all the nitrous stuff.

No problem at all. Any help is welcome at all. Tires are pretty easy and not necessary. I would like to get the nitrous working though out of curiousity and the desire for faster drag times.

I am super nervous about cooking the motor though...

We can start with a smaller shot and build up. I've got a lot of jets to play with. We just need someone with good eyesight to read the numbers on them...

You should be ok with a wet shot. Much more forgiving on a motor.

Sorry to be a PITA, but you can't really mix/match the rules for the CrapCan series and the Challenge---so unless you could run those wheels/tire/nitrous at Lemons (and it fit the budget) then you can't really screw with it for the Challenge.

Boooo. At least that makes it easy. Wheels and tires wasn't going to work out anyhow.

Would we be able to run it for an unofficial time?

Well if there is a 2 second difference in the afternoon it wouldnt be too much of a suprise.

Believe me this car isn't getting anywhere near the top of the pile. Concours score alone would sink us.
