I had a Delta Integrale when I lived in Italy in the mid-90s. Awesome car (at least for the time) and it never broke down, though pretty much everything that WASN'T associated with the car actually moving broke at one time or another (window motors, dash components, lights, wiring, etc).

It was tons of fun and I've also thought about importing one once I could go vintage age, more for unique/cool factor than anything else. Main problems:

    1. Even in 1994 in Italy, it was hard to find certain parts.....
    2. My WRX destroys in in every performance area by a huge margin.

In truth, I'd love to bring one in as a rolling chassis and swap a subie drivetrain in

I slept in the trunk of one of those in a rainstorm because my tent leaked! Always wanted one, though the emergency shelter was rather rusty and that was in 1990.

That may be true.. but WRXs are a dime and dozen and if you import an Integrale, it might only be one of a dozen here in the states.

I also doubt the WRX drivetrain would fit.. Mitsu Evo might

I agree with ddavidv, to each their own, I'd shoot for a rwd Escort or a 4wd Sierra...actually a bunch of those old ford cars would be cool...

That's the exact car I was interested in.

very true....but I have the GT6 for when I want to be "different"

As for the WRX...that's why I bought the sedan...because everyone buying the new ones are buying the hatch :) And as to "dime a dozen"...that's an ironic statement on a forum where it seems every other person owns a Miata...the most dime-a-dozen autocross/track car out there.

Considering I saw a Subie get together today in Atlantic City that managed to get a couple hundred cars together.. they are dime a dozen

er.....I never suggested that WRXs were uncommon.... ...my comment about the WRX vs. my old Delta was just aside commentary in the first place...commenting on how the Delta would probably be much less fun now than it was 15 years ago.... I'd love to have another (vintage) Delta for the unique factor and the Italian quirkiness, but not as a motorsports car.

and by the way: There were not "hundreds" of cars at the AC annual Tri-State meet today.... There were between 60 and 70 cars there.....and not all were WRXs or STis....hell there were even a few Saab(aru)s there.

Hell, I've been to Triumph meets with practically that many cars....

Friend of mine had a 130TC back when they were still current. Pretty impressive compared to a Golf GTI. Unfortunately any sort of Ritmo is almost impossible to find these days as so many got thrown away and no cult formed around them like it did around the Mk1 GTI.
