    Thank you, sir.

I'm on Mirage Performance, but haven't gleaned much from there...

Is this a hyper-specific question, or can someone who owned a first generation non-turbo help?

  • July 21, 2010 2:57 p.m. stan SuperDork

    Maybe.

My caliper bracket is bad and I'm looking for a replacement. I can get one shipped, but I'm not sure if it's actually the one I need ('93 Summit, 1.5, 5 speed, left side) and don't want to have to pay shipping two or three times to get the correct one...

I looked up the pt# and for the coupe it is N141801 from Napa, the sedan is a different part (N141752)

I've tried everyone including dealers (Mits and Dodge) and they all say "we don't stock that any longer"... I've even called junk yards all over (especially Columbus) and I just think they don't know, don't care, ain't lookin'.

But I'll check with the NAPA place on the way home tomorrow.

    Thanks Evan.

I work at a Saturn dealership so I have access to the pro catalog and I think they had some in stock. If you don't have any luck let me know and I can order it for you.

    Way cool.

I'll let you know this evening.

Looks like I was wrong. Just checked the catalog to see if there were any in stock and there aren't, not even at the warehouse.

    In reply to EvanB:

The guy at NAPA was very helpful and is having "his guy" call the factory and then get back to me.

    Thanks for trying Evan.

What is the VIN of your car and I can tell you what interchanges or download CAPS or Mitsu ASA and do it yourself.

Mitsu dealer tried the same thing and came up with "nothing interchanges". At this point I'll try about anything though, so tell me more about the CAPS/Mitsu ASA downloads.

there used to be a good lot of those cars around here.. but I have not seen one on the road in years. I do not even see them in the junk yards anymore.

You can put the larger 1.8 brakes on the 1.5 cars. I have a 95 Mirage and tried to sell the entire front brake setup in good condition for $70 last year (calipers, brackets, good pads, good rotors) and no one would bite. If I was anywhere near home I'd be able to get them off the car for you. Are 1.5 brakes vented? Our Socal junkyards are full of 1.5s, you can bolt on front brakes from any mirage from 93 to 2002. Just use the entire setup. I do have a friend with the front brakes off his 2000 Mirage in his garage if you'd like his email.

I saw where that was the big upgrade for these cars, but mine is a POS DD. Shipping from Socal on brakes would probably suck too and I might as well double-ship (worst case) just the bracket.

    Thanks for the offer though.

Stan last year I offered that price shipped CONUS. Unbelievable that no one wanted good brakes at that price.

A great price. Probably most people not knowing just what you had is the only thing I could imagine why such little interest.
