Does anyone on this list have any experience with these cars? Just curious. The Evolve editions have more hp than the standard R. Are the Volvos decent cars? Any problem areas?

I had an opportunity to drive the s60r, the interior was beautiful, and when the boost hit it took off. If it weren't awd, I would bet it would loose traction when the boost came on. No ownership experience, but when they came out I was looking at them and they just weren't priced competitively. I just looked these up, the used market seems like a bargain!

We have the wagon version without the go-fast goodies (V70)--its a good car, problem free after 3.5 years. I don't know about the R/Evolve ones though, I'd assume they'd be pretty reliable

IIRC, the Evolve cars are custom as Evolve is just a Volvo tuner shop.

You would need to buy a Volvo, then ship it to Evolve to get it tweaked to your spec.

    I could be mistaken though.

The one I am looking at has an Evolve kit on it and the thing screams! Lots of fun to drive. Never been a big Volvo fan but this thing was impressive.

Volvos are know to be reliable. If this one has been reworked by Evolve, you will have a reliable monster- at least as reliable as a tuned Volvo can be. I don't believe Evolve has cooperation with Volvo, so it won't be covered by factory warranty (an Evolve Volvo is not like a Dinan BMW so warranty work will probably be denied), but I wouldn't let that discourage you.

If you have the funds, i would definitely consider it. I've heard nothing but good things about them.

I had two of them as demos. The all black darth vadermobile was a cop magnet with the body kit. The silver / beige stealth bomber was completely ignored, even at high speeds. It's just another Volvo, it can't be going that fast. Not a good autox car, too big, and the steering is slow. I wish I could have gotten mine on the track, but didn't want to risk the $$$$. Fast, comfortable as all heck, and the electronic suspension made it a great driver.
