Not that I'm in a position to drop $60k on vehicle at the moment, but I'm curious about the engine.

I've heard them. I don't like the sound they make.

Doesn't sound like your typical American V8 no. But thats a good thing in my mind. This isn't your typical American V8.

Er.... with a flat plane crank, ALL headers are 180 degree headers...

Isn't the point of 180 headers is to emulate a flat plane crank?

It did exceptionally well considering how much less its rated HP is.

Any chance SVT would have sent a ringer motor for this little event???

Yes, "180 degree" headers give the exhaust scavenging benefits (and sound) found naturally in a flat plane (180 degree) crank V8. You never use both together.

Fixorated for you!!!!

I haven't been in one, but there was one in the studio right outside my office yesterday. I was about 10 feet behind it when they started it inside. I really want to be financially irresponsible based on the sound alone.

I doubt that, but I could see them taking out some weight, fresh tires, almost empty fuel tank, etc.

And it's already a good few hundred pounds lighter than the Hellcat.

Why take any weight out? It already has an inherent 600lb weight advantage. The GT-350 also appears to have some nice gearing to go with that rediculous redline.

Ask any Harley guy and they'll tell you that a sportster is not a real Harley

I just don't like the sound, it sounds off key to me. Ford V8s usually make terrific sounds, this one falls flat. I'm not knocking the engine, it revs to the moon and makes very strong power. Just sounds like ass.

Sounds and looks are like ---holes. Everyone has their opinion about it. To me, the FPV8 hits the sweet spot between a traditional pushrod V8 and an Italian supercar motor.

Sounds kinda like two four cylinders, right? Because that's basically what it is, two inline fours with a conjoined crank.
