Anybody ever remove the rear doors from a Chev Astro? I've tried beating the hinge pins out with the biggest hammer I own, but they won't budge. Other than a firewrench, is there some other method to their removal?

Never met a hinge that wins against one.

That's the plan to remove the old doors, but I still need to get the pins out of the replacement doors so I can fit them to the van. Nice try, though !!

    Have you tried using Astroglide?

Persistence, a grinder, a drill, a hammer and a punch. There will be something peened over, or puched flat, or something that retains the pins. Grind/drill that off, then beat like the dickens.

All the info I can find online involves variations on brute force. Not sure I want to remove the ones on the van until I have a good set of replacements. Once the originals come off, I'm kinda committed .
