One of the guys that runs with our autocross crowd is in the Robin Hood Rally. A picture of his car was linked on the SCR-SCCA web site. I thought I would share.
It wouldn't let me hot link it so click this
The car is a JWC Mini Challenge Race car. Way cool.
More info can be found here under The Swedish Job.

< wonders what the "Quaker Steak and Lube" is all about...
Per's Mini Challenge car, huh? I wonder if it still has my drool marks on it.
It's a restaurant.

Per use to auto-x with my home club "Triad Sports Car Club" in North Carolina.
He's beyond gifted and an amazingly nice guy to boot.
Such a bad ass Mini
From the photographers point of view. Nice image, Great angle. I love seeing all four wheels in the air.
I've heard good things about this rally from one of the participants...possibly coming to TV this Fall.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quaker Steak & Lube is a casual dining restaurant chain based in Sharon, Pennsylvania. The original restaurant was built in 1974 by George "Jig" Warren and Gary "Mo" Meszaros in an abandoned gas station in downtown Sharon, and decorated with license plates and old automobiles. Originally a "cook-your-own-steak" establishment, Quaker Steak's signature dish is now its chicken wings and the variety of sauces used to season them.
The Food Network's Man vs. Food did a hot wing challenge there. Looked like a cool place. But not nearly as cool as that picture!
The local QSL has lifts in the dining room with various cars on them and a 70 something Vette on one wall. They also host bike and car nights.
That is unquestionable the toughest looking MINI I have ever seen. Now back to my search for a JCW to start with.
Quaker Steak out here has bike nights with 3000 plus motorcycles.

needs moar beach and blow-up doll.
That's my kind of money shot.
The only way that MINI could be more awesome would be to paint it flat black with skulls.
OT....
The original QSL restaurant has Bobby Kennedy's personal Train Car sitting on some tracks in the parking lot. It is complete with his signature on the wall. A few years back they offered the entire thing for free if you moved it. Unfortunately, the permits and transport costs would have topped $20k easily and nobody took the bait.
My rehearsal dinner for my wedding was at the original QSL in Sharon. They have a tuesday night buffet - all you can eat wings for $7.99 in every possible flavor.
Thank you all for the compliments.
I shot this image at 1/3200 sec to freeze the action of driver Per Olof in his Mini coming down the hill.
What happened next... well you'll just have to tune to see!

If you go to Quaker Steak, I highly recommend the Fried Pickles (pickup pickles, or used to be porsche pickles) and the Arizona Ranch wings...
I love that place!
that is an AWESOME photo! I keep wanting to get back into photography, but get too busy with racing or helping with the event.
It's funny to hear people wonder about The Lube. Around here, it is an institution. Col
