Anybody heard anymore news on the new B-Spec class slated to run scca & nasa? Honda's Fit and Mazda's 2 look like a LOT of fun, at a decent price. Are there any sites that go more into there builds? I think this class will finally have me pulling the trigger on racing! Thanks!

I haven't heard of this class. Is it a road racing class or a solo class

Road racing. First press release was Dec.10, and they said they would release rules, regs. within 60 days. Which means there should be more info very shortly. Both SCCA and NASA have expressed interest.

Any new info? We're well beyond the original 60 days to rules publication that was announced.

Maybe contact someone at the sanctioning bodies. I am sure they could supply you with a rule book.

Honda and Mazda are still waiting for someone to pick the ball up and run with this. SCCA and NASA both have been rather lukewarm to the idea.

SCCA announced on April 21 that the B-spec cars will be running in SSC this year. Not just the Fit and the 2 but also cars like the Fiesta and the 500. Sorry, no link as I am posting from my phone.

Who could not want to run B-Spec?

100 hp FWD. ok, ok humm...

    OK .... A-Spec is here!!!!

    A-Spec What is A-Spec ??

All cars must have a msrp less than $ 25000 No Turbo's

Ford Mustang v6 base with the Performance Package MSRP is $24450.

Chevy Camaro 2012 Production Start Date is July 18 2011, the LSD - Rear End order number code is G80 Your Chevy dealer must order this code to get a LSD, the MSRP should be about $23600. No brake upgrade is available, it was hell for me to get the order code for the LSD = G80

Honda Civic Si ( What!! ) Yea, be careful, it should have a Sequential Shifter

RULES: The same rules as B-Spec = Shocks & Springs, gut the inside, Not The Dash.

Along with a Computer Management System, this will remove the speed shut off function & let the cars run free! (Keep the A/C System in tact) it would be better. Florida in the summer :)

Cars Not Eligible: 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe v6 Note: NOT ELIGIBLE MSRP $26,750 & No Brembo Brakes also,

2012 Dodge Challenger v6 Note: NOT ELIGIBLE (MSRP $23,000 +/- is good) 6 Speed Manual Transmission is NOT Available

100hp fwd cars would be cheaper and less prone to break over the course of time, for someone racing on a budget it's the perfect Fit. I personally am interested in running in it, but have been waiting on more info and availability.

I saw my first Mazda 2 on the interstate on my way south to St Augustine. Somewhere near Jacksonville as I recall. Awful small car to race unless you were always going to be on the track only against other B cars.

After doing chumpcar in a 92 civic hatch, b-spec would be INTENSE imo, especially if they opened it up to all hot hatches! Who cares if you only have 100hp? 100 free reving ponies and a willing transmission make a lightweight car exciting to race!
