Just picked up another miata! I've been sportscarless since 2011 and it's sure nice to be back. The car in question is a 1999 PEP in white. I might have a thing for white miatas; my 91 was too. Only has 112k on the clock and I picked it up for $3000. It does have a couple little issues but nothing too bad. Hopefully y'all can help solve a couple.
1.) Currently on 17" wheels. Luckily it came with the stock rims too. Plan here is to swap the snow tires on the stock wheels with something better. S-drives maybe? I'm still not sure what to do for tires here in Portland.
2.) Cruise control acts funny. The car will kinda bounce between the speed you set it and five mph up. Anyone have an idea why?
3.) Top doesn't fold well and has a lot of wind noise but doesn't leak. It came with a canvas Robbins top and a glass window with defrost. Again, not sure what's happening here.
Edit: Photos!
I'll leave 1 to your research.
2 is probably a cracked or poor vacuum line to the cruise control booster.
3's noise might be the two cables that run behind the door windows are not there/snapped? The tightness/not folding well could be stiffer material in the temperature? How old is the top and what temp are you putting it down? I've had a few tops that I've had to help along when it's ~65ish or below. All of them were 1 piece, glass window tops.

The top is a few years old. I was attempting to put it down when it was like 50° out. The PO warned me about the top not folding well so it may be iffy at all temps.
That could be. I had one on my NA that was supposed to be quieter than stock, but that was at the expense of making it so I had to judo-chop it in anything under 75ish in direct sunlight. I've heard the NB top frames are better about that, but I haven't tried one. Maybe inspect to make sure you still have an NB frame?
Update: the car came with the stock 14s, not 15s. So it looks like I probably will be buying wheels AND tires now.
Edit: Just fixed that problem with some 205/50-15 S-Drives wrapped around 15x8 Advanti S1s in matte grey. Should be here Wednesday

How do I tell the difference?
More questions:
What goes here? I see some broken wires but that's it:
The top eventually went down but I couldn't get it much past here. It was in the 40s today so am I safe to assume its operating as normal? I was able to get the tonneau cover on after driving for a bit. It was tight but doable.
My nb needed the top hinges lubricated a few times before it got smooth.
The wires are to the ac fan.

Ah, so they just need to be reconnected then? I'm not missing some sort of module or anything.

Since you're dabbling in old sports cars, most people would say you're missing a module, yeah.
