A simple job like changing the filter on my quattro 20V sedan has turned into a nightmare. There are banjo fittings on both sides. First the one between the filter and pump broke, it is a hard plastic line with banjo fittings and a barb on the line side. Fixed that with some efi rated line and clamps. Now the other side broke. It is also a banjo with a crimped rubber line. I am thinking another banjo with a barb, but can't find any of these locally. Now I am windering if I should re-do the whole thing to braided line. Fuel pressure is around 40 psi, the fuel lines to the engine are all braided. Is a rubber/barb/clamp connection safe or should I redo the whole thing? If it is OK where does one fine this sort of hardware?

Banjo to AN fittings. You need some hose and fittings as well. Make sure to get proper hose for fuel and pressure. The folks at capital can help you with selection.
