Especially with the Automatic transaxle.
Had a guy up in the Seattle area do that with a V6 in the back of his X-1/9. Last I heard he was working on building another one with a V8 and EFI, since the V6 was so much fun.

I wonder what transaxle that is.

This one is better.
Hell, I even prefer this one!

Looks to be the TH425. It weighs something like 700lbs. I would imagine that car has close to 1100lbs of engine and tranny in the back. Still looks nicely done though.

Yup, Buick FWD. I think the differential is chain driven, like a transfer case and the rest is essentially a GM turbo 350.
So yah, not exactly a lightweight solution, but that doens't make it any less awesome!

Yes, but "best Ford Fiesta ever" is like "best STD ever."

Blaspheme!
The Fiesta is a GOOD car. Pretty much everything coming out of Ford UK has been good.

The Mk1s were - nippy, not fast but decent handling and the sportier versions were fun to drive.

That I seriously have to disagree with. They managed to produce quite a lot of awful E36 M3 in the 90s.

My sister had one of those. Bone stock, of course. Then her son the rock star bought her a Mercedes. Wish my kids would do something like that.

That's pretty cool! Bet it's noisey inside though.
I lubbed my '78 Fiesta until it got totaled, even though the heater core was a cast iron bitch to replace. First car I ever AXed.

Yep, they were sold here. Most have dissolved though. Just make sure you aren't looking at Festiva's (unless your plan is to add box flares and a mid-mounted motor of some sort.

Festiva = Not Ford of Korea (KIA)

I like it!
I owned 3 Fiesta's. a '78, a '79, & an 1980. The '78 got totaled by being hit in the rear while parked in front of my house. Small car hit by big car. Ended up 80 ft down the street, turned 180 deg. around from how I parked it, and on top of my neighbors small tree. The '79 was a DD but the 1980 was a rust free California car and I raced it in SCCA ITC class from 1988-1995. Sold it to another racer in NY who raced it for a few more years both in IT and Prod. Got sold after that, not sure were it is now?
Haven't see one on the street in 10 years! I do see 1-2 at the race track and one last year in a pick-n-pull. I loved my race car. I still wish I had mine so I could do something like what was done to the yellow one pictured.

I've still got that car's pic on my phone! It got some magazine level publicity when he first built it (as a rod/straight-line car), then it sat around for years and now he's begun to autocross it. It's not especially fast yet, but still makes grown men go weak in the knees. The owner's a very nice fellow as well.
