I am, but I'm biased, and there's not a reasonable criteria to define what is good.
For the most part, I've observed engines that make more power, get better emissions, and use less fuel than the previous versions- pretty regardless of who makes them. So to me, newer is better.
besides, the duratec 2.0 is the same engine that the MZR is, and it makes really good power when it's called a Mazda in a formula car.
(the 2.3 is identical to the 2.0 outside of the slightly higher deck height, cams are somewhat for what it's used for- or Ranger/B Series isn't the same as Focus/3)
