The thread about the Nissan powered Z-3 has me thinking. I still like the F20C transplant and make the car an S2002.

Thanks for the links and info. I am surprised at how slow the car feels and how it doesn't shake or rattle at all. It would easily lose out in a drag race of all of my cars, my mazdaspeed miata would kill it, my E150 van would kill it, my mini would kill it, and my honda fit would even beat it. I'm guessing it has the original springs on it - it is a fairly boat like in the handling department at this point. It has 195/60-15's on it now. I think something with a little less sidewall would be better if I don't go back to smaller wheels.

    In reply to TJ:

Nice! And these days, nice ones are such rare finds that this whole "round tails" vs. "square tails" thing should just go away.

Add a 911 to that picture and you'll pretty much have my idea of a dream garage. Good score.

My miata is hiding in the garage. In my dream garage the Miata gets replaced with an Exige. The Mini and the 2002 stay. (Although in my dream garage my Mini is a better example and sometimes the 2002 is a 3.0 CS.) The only other addition is a self built mid engine sports racer type car - think LOCOST 23.

    Nice car TJ!

Anyone know where to get used interior parts? My 2002 has no seats at all...

I have a pair of 320i seats that I'm going to put in the front (sadly, not Recaros) but I need a back seat and door panels too.

I have a neighbor with 2 or 3 parts cars. I can ask him what interior pieces he has. He has a really nice 2002 that has been his daily driver since new and has nearly a million miles on it now.

And if that doesn't work out my friend has bunches of 02 parts. What color is the interior?

I think you got a great deal. Malaga is my favorite color for 2002s.

mel_horn, the dash is black and that's all it's got.

The car is orange, so I guess black would be my first choice, but tan would work, too.

...if you like fixing it more than driving it I guess.

I love my over-built little BMW!
