Not dissing the car. And the paintwork is presentable. Good work! Just not a $1500 car. That's what's great about this site! PM'd you the name/number. Good luck with it.

Not saying you were, it definitely was not a driver when I sold it. No heat, no interior, no muffler, no radio I could go on but you've seen it. If I would have seen this post earlier I could have saved you a trip out there. I never meant for the car to be a daily driver but when I needed it to be it was.

I agree with you though it's not a 1500 dollar car, when I told my wife about this she just laughed and said there's no way he'll get that. He said he wanted a project for he and his son to work on so that's why I sold it to him. I guess it was too much of a project for him or his son lost interest.

Anyway good luck with your search, and thanks for bringing back the memory's of all the money I threw away on this car if you can find a good one they are great fun little cars. I consistently was getting around 30 mpg's. Just watch for rust other wise I believe these cars are tanks.

Actually, the kid is in getting in trouble, which is why the car is getting sold. lol. I didn't look at it in person. This is the desription I got over the phone. Buy it back!

I've always liked those e21s. A former roomate had one and he beat the everliving crap out of it and it just kept going.

Right now i know a guy who has a MINT white one with the alloys and an airdam he bought from the original owner here in Florida for a song. It's a sweet car. I'm just biding my time waiting for him to get tired of it.

ROFL! And he thought he'd double his money.

nicksta43, maybe you should contact the guy and tell him you saw his "extortion" ad...

Slooooow. Rust prone. I'd spend the marginal extra and buy a 2.5 liter E30 and have some real fun. While I don't believe BMW has ever built a truly bad car, the 320i is about as close to lackluster as they've gotten. Not really their fault; as it was the way things were everywhere during that time period.

I don't love the E21 but I think worst bmw ever imported to the US has to be the E36 318i auto.

E21 suspension geometry is horrid. A step backwards from the 200 IMO.

Yep there are a few black sheep BMWs.

The 2000 coupe from the late 60s The 2800 and Bavaria. I have one love the car, But they are not sought after like the 2 door coupes. the E21s .. A agree the 318 e36s.. autos.

And now I am seeing a good deal of the 7 series from the 80s and even 90s showing up in the U pull yards. Keeping a 200k mile V8 or V12 running can be expensive.

Could you turbocharge that motor for some more oomph?

doesn't matter what engine you are talking about. The answer is yes.

lol, my friend's mother had one. I owned an E30 325is at the time I first drove it and was used to the power and torque of the small six. Driving three adult passengers to the airport in the 318i, I kept putting my foot to the floor and wondering if there was some mistake - was the car secretly built by kia?

Sounds like a great way to up the fun quotient then! More power always brings beer to the party.

Maybe the mixture of the E30 power with the Miata like feel of a lighter car? Could a turbo'ed 320 be the bastard child of 2/3's of the GRM holy trinity?
